Cafe Danzzan in Rowland Heights serves as a focused spot for matcha enthusiasts looking for something beyond typical coffee offerings. This Korean-owned cafe embraces a minimalist, photogenic interior that fits well for casual meetups or a quiet break, though the space can sometimes feel a bit lively depending on the crowd. The vibe is cozy without being cramped, making it an easy place to linger with a book or catch up with friends.

The menu centers on ceremonial-grade matcha prepared in creative ways, from thick, rich cream-topped lattes to refreshing frappuccinos infused with fruit flavors like mango and strawberry. Locals appreciate the high-quality, authentic matcha evident in the deep green color and slightly gritty texture—a sign that this isn’t your run-of-the-mill cafe powder. For those who prioritize the matcha flavor over volume, the smaller cup size aligns with a more deliberate drinking experience rather than a large caffeinated rush.

Customer flow here tends to be a mix of matcha aficionados and neighborhood residents who want a reliable, quieter alternative to the downtown LA scene. Since the ordering is self-service through a kiosk, it’s a quick spot to grab a drink without formal table service, appealing to those who value efficiency but also some atmosphere. Prices lean toward the higher end for the portion size, which might make it more of a treat than an everyday stop, especially if you’re sensitive to payoff on price.

Visiting during mid-mornings or early afternoons on weekdays offers a decent chance at a more relaxed setting, ideal for solo visits or casual conversations. The cafe's location on Colima Road puts it conveniently within reach for local shoppers or residents in the area who want to enjoy quality matcha without the trek to busier city centers.

  • Best for: Matcha lovers seeking a specialized, quality-focused drink in a cozy, casual environment
  • Audience: Locals and visitors who appreciate refined matcha, minimalist spaces, and quick ordering
  • Atmosphere: Minimalist, cozy, somewhat lively depending on the time
  • Tip: Try the cream-topped signature lattes for a rich, textured experience that stands out from typical cafes

Taste :4.2/5 Environment: 4.3/5 Service:4.0/5 ( self service / order at kiosk ) If you’re a matcha fan but don’t want to drive all the way to Downtown LA, Café Danzzan is a fun little spot to check out in Rowland Heights. It’s a cozy, Korean-owned café with that minimalist vibe (yes, photo-friendly ) We tried the Strawberry Matcha and Mango Matcha lattes. While they were refreshing and nicely presented, the flavors were okay — not mind-blowing, but decent enough if you’re nearby and craving something different

We ordered a cup of matcha latte and the cream top was amazing. It’s definitely one of the thickest cream tops I’ve tried and it’s safe to say this place has become one of my top matcha places. Atmosphere was nice but a little bit loud.

I was in the area and decided to try this place since I've heard that the vibes are great and they use good quality matcha. Though the prices are a little much and the cup size is definitely not the greatest-- I would say everything else I heard about this place was just about right. The matcha color speaks for itself that it's high quality, with a gritty, nutty texture. That's usually how I like my matcha so I couldn't complain due to my preferences, however, it might not be for everyone so keep that in mind!

Absolutely amazing new little matcha cafe in Rowland Heights. This is a predominantly matcha forward cafe which I love as I’m not a big coffee drinker. They have their own signature twist on classic matcha lattes but also offer a few delicious cold brews and coffee options. The menu is small but impactful with a few drink options and two to three unique baked goods. Everything that I’ve tried has been delicious and this is definitely a go to spot for a sweet matcha treat. There’s plenty of seating that’s artfully done and a quiet space that would be perfect for doing some work. The baristas are quick and patient while explaining the menu if we had any questions.

The ambiance is great, very cozy and nicely decorated. However, we ordered two of their signature drinks, and both tasted more like milk than matcha — the matcha flavor was quite weak. The taste overall was pleasant, just a bit underwhelming given the price and the small cup size. For this price point, I do hope the quality can be improved a bit more.
